Happy Onam 2009

The 2009 Onam is on 2nd September. For those of us who love the Kerala Sadhya, it is an experience to revisit again and again. The traditional feast is delicious, colorful and so filling. To bring back memories of Onam and peek into the fun filled days of childhood, you've got to read this post on Onam by Life at Abhi.

Reg Avial, I donno "where" you flaw :)..
the choice of vegetables..rightly cookes..the coconut base..coconut oil..curry leaves..even a Lazily made Avial should taste fine..

Want to know when is the best time to light diya or deepam at home? In most Hindu homes, 'deepam' or 'diya' is lit at least twice - once in the morning and then in the evening. How do you light deepam at home? As a child, I loved watching the ritual of my grandmother lighting the deepam or the traditional lamp at home in the evenings. A sense of serenity accompanied her frail figure as she would carefully straighten every wick, dip it into the tiny puddle of oil and light the lamp. Childhood days are the happiest days, aren't they? While growing up, I was such a lazy kid that I didn't help out in any chores a home.
