Do you have a List? I don't!

The wise people in my life have always advised me to be organized and making lists is the best way to get started. However, I don’t make lists and when I do, I lose them somewhere and end up spending more time and effort searching for it and finally, it leads me to tears.                                                        [Image: Pixabay] Before marriage, I never understood the value of time. My father's  formula was  'Time is God' but I didn't understand it. Of course, watching MTV and reading books and wandering out with friends is how I spent most of my time. Now, I realize that if I had been more time-conscious, there is so much that I would love to do with my time. I have a lot of shortcomings as a person but I am very proud about the fact that I work very hard at everything that I do and I utilize my every hour of every day an...

Sorry Tales of Housework

Childhood days are the happiest days, aren't they? While growing up, I was such a lazy kid that I didn't help out in any chores a home. My mom would wake up early in the morning, bathe, do the pooja, make breakfast and lunch and then of course, my task was to eat as if nothing else matters.  [READ: Learn to behave]                                                      [Image by Qimono, Pixabay]  Of course, she would ask me to help her out and learn some basics but do you think I listened? Not seriously, I simply didn't. I used to tell her not to worry so much. I always felt there would be a magical lamp that would manifest and take care of everything when it was my turn to take care of a home. Her wise words "Start early, or else later you will find it difficult to manage simple chores in your home" always fell on my deaf and dumb ears. Those...

Mommy Guilt and 24 Hours a Day

Having a job that I love, staying in sync with amazing people and friends on Twitter, Facebook and Blogger itself takes up all my time. That's why I can understand Barbara Miller's statement when she says, "As a mother of five active children, an owner of a growing business and a habitual volunteer I find myself testing scientific theory and bending and stretching time to unheard of limits. " (resource:The Impossible Stretching Woman: Prioritize to Return to Normal Size http://tinyurl.com/co9w28 ) Let me talk about this in the context of an Indian woman whose way of life is radically different. A typical contemporary Indian woman cannot come back home and expect to relax, read the newspaper and watch TV or just gossip on the phone or simply idle away time at the end of a very hard working day. In my world, it doesnt work that way at all. Countless details need to be checked that requires focus, commitment and detailing. My mother is a working mom. I've never seen...

No Place Like Workplace

There is no place like workplace. Trust me, I really believe that all I've done at my workplace is learn and communicate with people who have great potential and brilliant minds. In this context, communication is the golden key. You dont agree? Let me explain it a little more. Lesson 1: Communication is open to interpretation, so take care! Communication is all about growth and perpetual learning. When you shut yourself from doing and experiencing that, it's like shutting the windows out to block the sunshine. You dont realize how badly the darkness can pull you down but the truth is that it really does. You have to open your mind and intellect to experience communication like never before. That is why today's workplace is such a powerful place. Emotions fly high and so do relationships. At your workplace, if you got angry with someone, do you think that person will understand without being told? Usually, that doesnt happen. But you dont have to take out verbal swords to ma...
