My Request to devotees of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba

Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, revered and worshipped by millions across the world, is reported to be on life support. That is the most ridiculous news reporting I've heard. Because I have been part and parcel of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization for over twenty years and Bhagawan has never never needed any support from anybody. All devotees know that too so I am not trying to make a sensation by saying so.

What the Press does not tell you is that He, who has saved and brought back to life, millions of people from their death beds, needs no saving from anybody. If He has chosen that His body should suffer, He knows best. He needs nothing from anybody. Doctors worldwide report to Him when they are faced with distressing situations because He has always guided them to do the right things and save lives, and now they are reporting about His condition in order to placate His devotees and their growing concerns.

My request to all those who follow Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba - Everything in our life happened because He made it Happen. Today, He is saving somebody's life or suffering for one among us. Do not cause Him more embarrassment please by doing exactly the opposite of what He says. Maintain discipline at all times. Do not take law into your hands. Do not panic. Nothing can stop Bhagawan from healing Himself. For so many of us, He has brought us back to life. Do you think He needs our help? No.

Pray to Bhagawan to not put Himself through such suffering but do not attack, hurt or protest against others in the process. Do not violate Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's message of loving all, in the process. I am begging you. Maintain discipline, nothing can happen to Bhagawan without His will. You know it so don't take law into your own hands. Do not blindly trust Press reports - they just want to sell more copies and misusing Bhagawan's name helps them sell more.

Request to the PRESS - You know NOTHING about Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba because you have only seen Him from a distance and He has never permitted you to go closer.  Do some homework first. Find out about His life, what He has done to save and help millions of people, talk to those who have served Him and know Him rather than talking to people who know and have nothing to do with Him. Then do what you are best at doing - reporting to sell more copies. In the process, for now, because your reporting leaves out accuracy and churns out what you want the masses to hear about him -

LEAVE HIM ALONE. LEAVE US ALONE.

I, too agree with the Swapna. Media has no work other than finding some news and making them sensational by including anything in it. So, i too, request every reader believe what she is saying and do not listen and act on media sayings' blindly.

Hello,
I have heard that Saibaba has built a sate of the art hi-tech super speciality hospital.I hope they have advanced Psychiatry department there?
The safest , surest and easiest way to enforce gullibility is to invoke "faith" . Just because millions throng to see the magic of Saibaba it does not give an inalienable right and carte blanche to silence any one who dare to question.
I have already abridged my views on Saibab in my blogpost today.

If one is born , be it a unicellular creature or the ones who dream of physical immortality , " man" , will age and will die. Some do not take ill before their demise some unfortunately do. And what you are denying is one such.

Mr. anil..to question is anybody's right..but to say bad things about someone who has transformed lives of millions of ppl positively is somthing really sad..check out this link to know (a glimpe) of what baba has done to society ..http://bit.ly/ezZc7d

also, can you proudly say if you have changed a 100 ppl's life atleast positively? if not, what credibility we have to talk of somoone who is respected by so many..even if you want to criticize get the facts and proof..dont keep yelling..

To ganesh,
First and foremost I do not intend to go tit for tat on this matter on the Blog. And I have not yelled even when people such as you cry hoarse at the slightest threat to their icons.
I have not changed any life from bad to worse , nor have I fooled anybody. To change lives for the better one does not need to be a necromancer or an alchemist.
I have written in my post on SaiBaba in my blog that I do not deprecate any work of goodness, but gimmicks ,I will call it felony.
And the latest news is SaiBaba is on dialysis. Now you can allege that to be of heresy and fabrication. Mr Ganesh , we all will grow old and die, that is the law of nature. And also death has no age preferences too. SaiBaba too will have to succumb to the inevitability, all mortals will have to.So don't fret do the good while you are around but do not fool the meek.
Bye

To Mr. anil,

There exists thin line between superstition and faith...having said that what is faith to me cud be superstion to some one else..but i beleive what i see..not unverified allegations from closed minded people..all said..whether aged or not, when some one close to you is not well..any one feels bad..in such it is very important to be cautious and to note that we dont disrespect others faith...u say sai baba is fooling others..in my opinion you are fooling people by by writing unverified (which never happening) events..good luck dude..keep writing nonsense..no takers here..

Ganesh, I believe that people like Anil has to voice themselves for attention sake! They don't have a view to express, they can only be loud and can only remind us of likes of Rakhi Sawant!

Very simply he could have kept his view and expression of speech to his blog or to his like minded people, but Nah! how can we expect a likes of Rakhi Sawant to not to indulge in the acts of bragging!

We are people of mental strength, we should completely avoid even replying to such people!!

Especially when we all here to celebrate the man, the bhagvan and his life, my guru!

Swapna@ i am not a believer (if that is the term to be used) of Sai Baba..to me he has never been anything more than a noodle haired-saffron clad god-man..but for u he might be the God and i respect your faith..

some things u mentioned in the blog didnt seem right to me.. i been hearing news dat he is on life support and been undergoing dialysis..now if wat u say is true, den why cant u people, the staunch supporters give us the right news instead of the cooked up ones.. now please don tell me that it is against Babas wish..

all that message about suffering for someone else and everything happened because he wants it to happen...d lines sound so very familiar..i call one a line from the bible and d 2nd d beliefs that got passed on to all of india from Indus and worshiping the mother goddess..so that is not really copyrighted to baba..

Probably he has changed many peoples life for the good..but how am i and anil (2 non believers) to understand his significance and importance, unless u tell us ur version of the truth instead of blogs denying news paper reports and copying somethings from the bible and vedas??
@Ganesh PS - Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback on this blog.

@Neha & Prachi - Thank you too.

@Anil Kurup - It's always good to have a logical mentality and bent of mind. Baba brings love to our hearts. Some day, some time, I hope that love is something that your logic helps you to assimilate and perhaps understand. I have no interest in pursuing a debate because my message is for devotees. Wise people like you can debate. I am an ordinary person with simple, ordinary realm of thought. I cannot compete with your wisdom. God bless.

@ousu - When you love some one with all your heart and soul, it is no longer an object of avid curiosity or passing interest with news value. That is how we feel about Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, an emotion that is stronger and more powerful than a tsunami wave. You will not understand unless you have learned to love. I wish some day, you love someone with that intensity and then, we can discuss it in this space. God bless you.

Hello Swapana,
Your compliments are much ha!
In fact you seem to be running away , an escapism into the perceived comfort of the cocoon.
This forum of discussion and debate,I guess not a IQ test to determine once intellect or wisdom.
If you evade and hide behind curtains not wanting to hear , listen or give a repartee to an opposite opinion , it is unfortunate indeed. And tells that despite of the devotion in your Godman you are yet to overcome fear and have self confidence. It tells a lot. It is up to you.
@Anil Kurup - I never turn away uninvited guests from my home, even when they are rude and arrogant. The same is the case with my blog. Though an unwanted guest, you are some one I would still care to address.

You have a right to criticize whoever you want if your intellect and wisdom, according to you, is superior. Sadly, the tragedy of human life is that our first instinct is to find fault with others in order to mask our own. You cannot pinpoint some one's fault unless you have identified having it within yourself first.

Perhaps it stems from bitter experiences you have had, perhaps you rightfully consider yourself a cut above the rest, all of which comes to nothing, really. You are born alone, you die alone. It is your choice if with this arrogance, you choose to live alone. No god can help you overcome the rootcause of problems - the identification with the False Self - the belief that you alone are right, no God or religon can help you change that.

It has to begin from within. It has to begin with the development of compassion and humility within. I don't need to waste my time responding to you but I feel compassion towards you and that alone is the reason I have replied to you.

You belong to a great lineage, it is up to you to squander it away. Your lineage is that of love. You can love and help others or you can hurt and criticize others. The law of life is that it comes all back to you, the source.

I know who I am and where I am headed. I don't have the arrogance to say that my path is the right one but I do have the humility to say that I know this path is right for me.

Sadly, not all have been blessed by the company of God. That is why we pray, "Samasthaa Lokka sukhino bhavanthu."

It takes courage and conviction to pray for the welfare of others, particularly those who are arrogant but ordinary people can do it because their paths are chosen for them by God.

I am not running away. You are, if you believe that God can be understood by an IQ test wherein you can display your logical and analytical skills. The sad part is you are running away further from yourself than from anythingelse.

And if you ask within yourself or
to those who know you well, you will realize that the running away started long, long ago, before you met me on this blog.

I don't want to be rude because what is done comes back to its source, but the truth is this: you will receive from God what you give to those around you and i hope one day, you learn that all the IQ tests and logic you are referring to comes to nothing and of no help in the might of God's tests.

Love for God alone wins and that is something human beings will learn when they are faced with adversity.

Thanks for the reply. Exactly as it was thought. In fact many did suggest I do not comment any further and it is simply not worth talking to people when they choose to be closed and wearing blinkers.
Your replies did emphasise that your conceptual beliefs are only enhancing the fear in you..
Carry on. I visited your blog through a suggestion with your link that came to me from a blogger friend.
So be around and enjoy the magic and the magician. And hope you do not equate this magician, this God man with people like Mother Teresa or Father Damien for examples. It will be insulting them with no bounds.
@Anil Kurup - I am sure enjoying the magic and the "magician". I don't plan to run away anytime soon. Take care.

The Ugly Truth about Caste in Kerala

Many years ago, when I wrote this post on Kerala's caste system, I had not considered that people would start sending in abusive comments about one caste over the other. It baffles me that this is how Indians, all of us, continue to judge each other on account of caste differences.  [ READ: Guru Kripa: Powerful Lessons at the Lotus Feet ] My question is - why do you ABUSE any caste or community? I suggest that you read about the lives of great Masters and their stories - none of them judged anyone on the basis of caste.  You can read the life stories of Sri Adi Shankara Bhagawadpada, Tulsidas, Jnaneshwar, Namadev, Sri Aurobindo, Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Paramahansa Yogananda, Shirdi Sai Baba, and many more Gurus in Sanathana Dharma. NONE of them endorse these caste hierarchies in Bhakti Marga. Assuming that Guru Sampradaya does not appeal to your sensibilities, do read this  new book 'Ants among Elephants' written by Sujatha Gidla, who writes about herself as being born

How do you light Deepam at home?

How do you light deepam at home? As a child, I loved watching the ritual of my grandmother lighting the deepam or the traditional lamp at home in the evenings. A sense of serenity accompanied her frail figure as she would carefully straighten every wick, dip it into the tiny puddle of oil and light the lamp. As my grandmother would read out the scriptures and chant the prayers, the fragrance of incense sticks and flowers added depth to the experience. In many Hindu homes nowadays, the lighting of the lamp (or the nilavilakku, as Malayalis refer to the traditional lamp in their homes) is not a regular practice. A lot of people have many questions around how to light deepam at home and which oil to use and so on. An important point to keep in mind - Maintain physical cleanliness and hygiene while lighting the lamp. Wear clean clothes while lighting the lamp. Gayatri Mantra as Panchamukhi: Get it right or let it go

Most people do not understand the importance of chanting the Gayatri mantra because they are not aware of its power. It is only when I began to read Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's teachings that I learned how sacred and powerful the chanting of the Gayatri mantra is.    The Vedas represent the breath of God. The Gayatri mantra is the very basis of the Vedas. Try not to undertake chanting the Gayatri mantra as a light endeavor or as a hobby. It has to be chanted with faith, discipline and purity of mind and body. Be steady with your sadhana if you want to reap the spiritual dividend associated with the Gayatri mantra  and never once hesitate once you decide to do it.  Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba said that the Gayatri Mantra is referred to as Pancha Mukhi, the Goddess with five faces that represent the five pranas or life forces. Here's more on it. .  Also read: The Power of OM   Chant the Gayatri Mantra correctly: Pause Five Times Here are some important thi

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra: Meaning, Benefit of Chanting and Who can Chant the Mantra

Mahadmrityunjaya Mantra: Benefit of chanting this mantra There are very few mantras that are as powerful as the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. Do read my post: Does Mahamrityunajaya mantra really work?       Mahamrityunjaya mantra is believed to have the power to remove all sufferings, diseases and bestow the one who chants it with good health and long life.   It is also believed that constant contemplation of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra can help spiritual aspirants to overcome the cycle of birth and death. What got me fascinated about this mantra is something personal.  I learned this mantra from my father but it is my maternal grandmother who chanted it all the time and repeatedly told me of its tremendous power to protect. However, I did not chant this mantra regularly.  At the age of two, my son was taught some mantras by my mother who explained what it means to him and he became very enthusiastic about chanting the mantras. Following this, my mother taught him the Maha Mrityun

Saree Woes 2

Our earlier discussion on Saree Woes really perked up my spirits. A big thanks to all of you for pepping me up. Okay, here's the good news. There was an unexpected late night party that I had to attend in Gurgaon. To be honest, I haven't had the time or energy to attend any such parties after Adi was born. I was sure I wouldn't have the confidence to make conversation with the glitterati, let alone feel confident to carry off wearing a saree. This is one of those parties where you have to be dressed very formally. Well, at the end of a working woman's day, you hardly feel ready to attend one of these parties looking like a moron, right? So, with very little preparation and very few hours left, I called on all the gods in Heaven to help me look a little younger and prettier since I don't have the magic to look young all on my own. Although I was tempted to wear one of my awesome Kancheevaram treasures, I knew it would be very difficult to drape it without any h
